How long has The Mom Lady Beauty Booty been in business?
Been in actual business for 3 months; been making products for several years as a hobby
Tell us what you do.
I create and manufacture lotion, lip balm, bath salts, and shower gel. I will be offering shampoo and conditioner in the near future.
How did you get started?
While my husband was serving his fourth tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, as a U. S. Army Chaplain, my kids said, "Mom, you need a life!" So, The Mom Lady's Beauty Booty was born!
What's your specialty?
Currently, I manufacture lotion, lip balm, bath salts, and shower gel. Customers swear by the healing properties of my lotion and are starting to use my other products, as well.
What is your usual turn around time?
Products are usually made to order, so turnaround time is 24-48 hours.
What are some things you are doing to help keeping going during this tough economy?
Since I deliver orders locally, I am conserving fuel by combining trips and delivering to customers only two days a week. They are very understanding and usually offer me a few dollars more than their order total to cover the cost of fuel.

Oh and what you guys might like to know is that their products are not just made in Alaska, their products are certified MADE IN ALASKA. This is a big deal for the tourists, because they are "taught" to look for the MADE IN ALASKA emblem on products here, to ensure they are manufactured in the State of Alaska. It's a great honor to be certified by this organization, because they have very rigorous standards for sanitation, quality control.
That’s pretty cool because I didn’t know that!

I know if I am ever in Alaska, I'm going to stop by and visit Elaine! She is a doll and I would love to meet her in person! And I have to make sure I go when they have a full 24 hours of daylight! That has to be so cool! Just think of all the work I could get done if I never had to sleep! Wow!
